Mount Pelion, being a relatively low and gentle mountain, is an integral part of Magnesia and its capital, Volos. With its highest peak, Stavros, reaching 1,624 meters and a length of approximately 50 kilometers, Pelion naturally marks the boundary of Magnesia towards the Aegean Sea.
